| In vitro testing apparatus in which a small muscle bundle is transilluminated by laser light (shown as red lines) during mechanical testing. A photodiode is used to record the laser diffraction pattern. A small motor is used to adjust muscle length and record force. The muscle is activated by a stimulator via platinum electrodes placed around the muscle. |
